KARMIK ACCOUNT
I was asked to write for the Chandrabhaga publication and my thoughts began wandering. I remembered the days when my husband used to guide me in the subject matter and in editorial work and immediately felt a sense of loss and helplessness. I was on my own now and there wasn’t anyone to be my partner in writing. These had been many joint endeavors in our life and suddenly destiny chose to leave me midstream to careen across the rest of my life on my own. Well the TRUTH is, while my heart grieves for my companion, he seemed to have reached THE DESTINATION ahead of me and actually ahead of many. Isn’t that the ultimate ‘truth’? I see two sides to the coin here- I live a worldly life caught up in ‘Maya’ and as a material witness and I also see that my husband has escaped this and has reached the final ‘destination’ that we all are enroute. So if we all are passengers in life’s journey, then why grieve for someone who has reached ‘the destination’ before many others? Aren’t we all sooner or later going to get there? As I sorted through my husband’s now insignificant, material belongings, my eyes fell on a long sheet or paper jammed in his diary. It was his horoscope, his “Janam Kundli”. I couldn’t help but read it and was mesmerized by the predictions. “Madhya Ayu”, it read-A chill went down the back of my spine and I got goose bumps reading the ominous prediction. This was written at the time of his birth and obviously somebody and somehow his life span was predicted. So does a child at the time of his birth, come into life with an accountable period?
On what basis did his soul get this life span? Could we account this to the “LAW OF KARMA”? Nothing happens by chance in the spiritual world. It is the spiritual law that governs this world and it is done through the universal spiritual law of action and reaction that we commonly call the “Law of Karma or Action”.
KARMA is of three types. 1- Positive action is called “SUKARMA”, which is beneficial to the soul. 2-Negation action called “VIKARMA” which causes sorrow and unhappiness to the soul.3- Neutral action called “AKARMA “ are the routine action that are done as per the need to live life which do not carry any reactions so no fruit as good or bad. Body perishes; the soul carried forward the impressions of all the Karmas done in every life birth after birth for the whole Kalpa. Kalpa is a cycle of four Yugas, i.e. Satya-yug, Treta-yug, Dwapar-yug, and Kali-yug, in other words qualitatively called Golden-age, Silver-age, Copper-age and Iron-age. The new Kalpa starts with Satya-yug i.e. the Golden-age with all freshness, happiness, peace and purity all around.

The Festival
“Twenty-four high festivals enliven the religious year” at Puri, rightly claimed as the city of gay festivity and colorful festivals. These festivals are associated mostly with the memorable events in the life of Rama and Krishna. Jagannath is viewed as no other than Rama & Krishna. All incarnations of Vishnu are said to rise from and return to the same source. The Primal Divisity, the lord Jagannath. Jagannath is considered to be no AVATAR (Incarnation) but he is the AVATARI (the source of all avataras). Puri, His abode, is proclaimed to be the DASAVATARA KSHETR$A the place of the ten incarnations of Vishnu. The Bathing festival constitutes the two greatest events of the year. These two festivals have earned the title of “SVAYAM LILA”, the celebrations in which DARU BRAHMA is made to participate in person, whereas other festivals are presided by his protégé.

About Us
SEEDS, SEEDING & TREE
In 1978 the thought of forming a social and charitable organization in Faridabad, Haryana was initiated by the few friends and all wishers. The very first idea was initiated by Late Shri Bhawaban Chandra Raj (a noted social worker of Nilachala Seva Sangha, Housekhas, New Delhi. We the few persons were invited to attend Gopabandhu centenary function at Lajpatral Bhavan, New Delhi. After attending the function while coming back to Faridabad in a shuttle train we discussed about the inspiration of Shri B.C. Raj that to do something for our society. I had very clearly noted his few words, such as if you like to do social service then you must settle your mind first to sacrifice yourself, you have to spent money from your pocket, must control your personal liking and disliking.
After reaching at mess (5N-40, N.I.T. Faridabad) we again discuss the same within 5 members (R.K. Bardhan, A.K. Sen, A.C Sahu, S.C Das and S.K. Chakrabarty). Then we consulted to Late Dr. S.C. Majhi. He guided us with every legal issue such as writing our by law, thated to be passed by committee members and sent it to registration authority. In between we have increased the committee’s members. Mr. D. Bharati, B.K. Goswami, C.M. Pradhan, R.C. Nayak and became new executive members along with Dr. Majhi and we five.
After two years of committee’s inception we got registered in the name of Kalinga Sanskrutik Parishad in the year 1980, our registration No. was 345. Every year we had organized mainly two functions, Swaraswati puja and Ganesh puja. We celebrated cultural program of songs and dances on the occasion of Swaraswati puja. We did arrange feast among members in Shri Ganesh puja. In the year 1983 we invited Late Shri Shyam Sunder Mohapatra (the then Gen. Secretary of congress) & shri Bhajan lal Ji( the then Chief Minister of Haryana) as out chief Guest and guest of honor respectively on the occasion of Swaraswati puja. Prior to function we had already applied for a piece of land to establish a permanent place & building for our cultural and charitable activities in Faridabad. Ultimately honorable to donate 1 Lac rupees to CM’s fund. Then we had received an offer i.e. to deposit 25% cost of land noted in that letter. In fact we all were very low paid salaried people except two to three. So we named Late Mr. O.P. Bhalla to help us. We three to four guys regularly we to him for months and finally he gave a substantial amount. We had some amount including his, the 25% cost was deposited.
We got the possession after payment. There were 3 associations named Kalinga Sunskrutik Parisad, Utkal association and Orissa association. All 3 associations had amalgamated and Shri Jagannath Cultural Centre was formed by under the caring of K.S. Parishad. The entire inmovable property particular the land could not be transferred to any other registered body as a rule of HUDA, that’s why K.S.P. is known as parent organization & will take care of all land related issues. In 1985 Shri Jagannath cultural Centre had laid the foundation stone of JCC by Late Shri R. Venketraraman (the then vice president of India). With him is chief patron Lt. Shri S.S.Mohapatra and Patron Lt. Shri Deepchand Bhatia along with Shri Bhjan Lal ji and Lt. Shri Gnagadhar Mohapatra performed with the guidance of the main sheer of shree Jagannath Dham Late Shri Shadashib Rathaa Sharma.
In the year 1986 Holi purnima the Trinity (Shri Balabhadra, Subhadra and Shri Jagannath) had blessed the devotees at Faridabad after the inaugural ritual. On this occasion the then speaker of parliament Late Shri Balaram Jakhar & Shri Balaram Jakhar & Shri Giridhara Gumanya state minister of food & supply were present as chief guest & guest of honor. Likewise in every annual function the centre a number of ministers had come to our temple to get the blessing of Lord Jagannath. But unfortunately some of them had responded for help toward our goal. We are very thankful to Late Shri Gyani Jain Singh, Late Shri Radhanath Ratha (Founder of daily Smamaj News Paper) and Late Shri S.S. Mohapatra (Ex. General Secretary Congress I) for Odisha day Golden Jublee Celebration at Rastrapati Bhavan in 1986.
This organization, always pay their heartiest respects to some of departed devotees who had sincerely done something remarkable for the development of temple, we must mentioned their names for the remembrance and history:- Dr. S.S. Majhi, Shri N.K.Pradhan, Shir B.K. Panigrahi(Ex. D.C. of Faridabad) & Shri Braja Mohan Das of course there are many more persons who had done directly or indirectly for his organization are also supposed to get the some regards until Lord bless us.
